Dark 'n Stormy

You look at the radar, see nothing. The sky looks clear, partly cloudy, 10-15 kts wind, perfect sailing day. Out of nowhere comes the dark 'n stormy. We made it back in just in time. We were enjoying a nice sail out to the bluffs, and then the wind really picked up. No sign of anything coming, just sudden wind increase. I decided to head back, based on the wind change. Good thing. Man that was an ugly sky. I would have taken a picture, but I was huddled in the aft cabin, cowering from the lightning. I hate lightning. Maybe it's my electrical background, knowing what it can do that makes me fear it. We survived. Deb laid down next to the mast and took a nap. She slept through a smoke alarm once, so I guess she can sleep through a thunderstorm too. Kelly called while we were battening down the hatches. (I like saying that) We didn't answer, and she got a little freaked out. How's it feel? Remember those high school nights, keeping us up because you didn't answer the phone? :0 Lazy days ahead, relaxing on the barge. Maybe I'll take a nap after lunch.
