Well good morning! I slept like the dead last night after all the stress and work of yesterday. I was even too tired to have a beer. I know, right?
The place has a different look about it now that we are ready to go. I just felt like we were running into too many boat projects and bleeding money in the boat yard and it was always on my mind. I just thank the stars that Trini has such skilled and reasonably priced labor. If we did all this elsewhere I would be back to work stocking shelves or playing the guitar on the streets for money. Of course I only know one song. "Could you play Teach your Children?" Sure. I would then proceed to play Wild Thing by the Troggs. "I want to hear Stuck in the Middle with you by Steelers Wheel" OK ...Wild thing. You make my heart sing...
Eventually people would find it a novelty and give me money just to laugh and hear Wild Thing in place of every request. Before long I would be good enough to start their actual song request as they were walking away but then when they turn around to listen I would go back to Wild Thing. This would work well until people went home and could not stop hearing Wild Thing in their heads which would eventually lead to someone beating the crap out of me. Hopefully not too severe a pounding so that I can go back to stocking shelves.
If this weather window holds we are going to launch next week and go north. I am not a fan of just launching and going big distances but the harbor in Chaguaramas is noisy, busy and crowded. Not somewhere I want to float around for very long.
